Plain answers on what gets collected, what it is for, and how whatever sits on your device is looked after. Last updated August 2026.
Norwich Data Recovery recovers data for households and businesses in Norwich, throughout Norfolk and anywhere else in the UK that can reach a post office. All bench work happens in our secure Cambridge lab at Compass House, Vision Park, Chivers Way, Cambridge CB24 9AD. Anything on this page you want explaining: 0800 689 0668 (Mon–Fri 9:00am–5:30pm).
Filling in either form here hands us four things: your name, a phone number, an email address and your own account of the device and what it is doing. Those exist so we can reply, diagnose, quote and then carry out the job. We sell none of it, pass none of it to anybody else's marketing, and send you no marketing ourselves.
Anything posted in is booked into the secure lab and touched by our engineers alone. What we recover travels back to you on encrypted media, and our working copies are securely erased once you have told us the files arrived safely. Nobody browses, uses or passes on the contents of your device beyond what the recovery itself calls for, or what the law obliges.
Enquiry details stay only as long as the job needs them, and afterwards only as long as the books do. Working copies of anything recovered are wiped on your confirmation of safe receipt, which in practice means within a fortnight of it going back.
Under UK GDPR you may ask for a copy of whatever personal information we hold on you, have it put right, or have it removed where there is no longer a reason to keep it. Ring 0800 689 0668 and it gets seen to quickly. Should our handling of something leave you unhappy, the Information Commissioner's Office takes complaints at ico.org.uk.
